Romantic Date Ideas

Don’t let a lack of funds keep you from having romantic dates with your spouse. By using your imagination, you can add some fun and excitement to your marriage even on a limited budget. Here are 12 ideas to get you started:

1. Go out for a burger and fries and take in a movie at a nearby dollar theater.
2. Put the children to bed early and give each other an all over body massage using warm body oil or lotion.
3. Have a picnic in the park. After you eat, lay on a blanket and watch the clouds.
4. Turn your living room into a theater. Dim the lights and eat buttered popcorn as you watch a movie.
5. Plan a camping trip. If your children are going with you, you may want to provide them with their own tent so you can enjoy some privacy.
6. Put your children at a sitter’s house for the night and have a romantic date at home. Get dressed up and enjoy a candlelight dinner.
7. Play an exciting board game- preferably one for couples.
8. Create a romantic retreat. Change the look and feel of your bedroom by using different colored light bulbs, candles, flowers, and extra pillows on the bed. Bring in some food and have a date in your bedroom.
9. Take advantage of the free music concerts or festivals offered in your city.
10. Pack a lunch and go for a bike ride. When you get tired, stop and have a picnic.
11. Plan a romantic evening at home. Before the date, each spouse can go shopping in a department or dollar store and spend $5 or $10 on things to make the evening special.
12. Go out for lunch rather than dinner. Often, restaurants will charge more for dinner than lunch. You can save even more by drinking water and skipping dessert.

You can have fun in your relationship even when you don’t have the money to go on expensive dates. Use this list to spark your own ideas and do something fun with your spouse today.

No need to be cooped up inside for dinner and a movie when there are an unlimited number of outdoor activities in Brisbane that make excellent romantic dates with someone special.

City Botanical Gardens

Since 1928, the City Botanical Gardens has served as an urban refuge housing thousands of colourful exotic and native plants and trees. The area consists of many paths and green lawns, and takes up the majority of one of the peninsulas jutting into the Brisbane River. You can enjoy strolling along the mangrove boardwalk or simply find a quiet spot for a lovely picnic. You can also dine at the Gardens Café or buy an ice cream cone from the little store along one of the pathways. It’s also a good idea to see which concerts are scheduled on the River Stage. You never know what who you might see!

Mt Coot-tha Lookout

For one of the best views of Brisbane, Moreton Bay and the Glass House Mountains, take a trip to Mt Coot-tha Lookout. Make a reservation at either The Kuta Cafe or the Summit Restaurant and enjoy the lookout while you dine. While you’re out there, visit the Mt Coot-tha Gardens and experience 52 hectares exotic plant life from around the world. Only ten minutes from the city, Mt Coot-tha is definitely worth the trip!

Yeronga Park Heated Pools

Within the lush surroundings of beautiful Yeronga Park, you can find a little spot perfect with swimming pools, picnicking and lounging about. The pools at Yeronga Park are heated which means you can visit them all year round. This area houses everything you might need for a romantic day in the sun, including beach volleyball and barbeque facilities.

Bayside Parklands

With over 16 kilometres of parklands on the southern edge of Moreton Bay, the Bayside parklands offers mangroves, forest, beaches, creeks, mudflats and woodlands so there is never a shortage of things to do. Whether you fancy bushwalking, swimming, boating, or picnicking , you’ll enjoy a full day on your next visit. Don’t forget the romantic stroll along the parkland foreshore – the views are spectacular.

Einbunpin Lagoon

Just two minutes from Sandgate train station you will find Einbunpin Lagoon, a quaint outdoor haven filled with all sorts of bird life. You can enjoy the views around lagoon, or head across the road to enjoy the many cafes and restaurants.

Kangaroo Point Cliffs & Riverwalk

A popular spot for rock climbers and abseilers, Kangaroo Point is another great place from which to admire the city skyline. There are many picnic tables and barbecues along the riverwalk and pathways suitable for bothwalkers and cyclists.

Better known as “Coochie”, this beautiful island is perfect for exploring on a sunny afternoon. Coochie has it all for Brisbane singles – sandy beaches, walking trails, warm waters for sailing, and lots of marine life such as dolphins and turtles.

Much of the initial fire of a relationship is related to the chase. We cannot help but love the idea of someone wanting to spend time with us and enjoy our company. The real passion ignites when you love their company equally and don’t care what you are doing so long as it is together.

Romantic ideas come very easy in the early stages of a relationship with both sides wanting to prove their undying love to the other. And the, like some small but growing leech whose appetite seems to grow year by year, the passion seems to be sucked away as time wears on.

The stresses of work, finances, children, and the endless errands start to take a toll on both people in a relationship until it begins to feel like more of a business partnership more concerned with economic interests than in anything resembling romance. Unless small but meaningful gestures are continually made by both sides, partners will begin to feel taken for granted and neglected. When the spark is gone or dying a slow but agonizing death, it is time to use some simple romantic ideas to sizzle up that love life and remind each other why you were doing it all in the first place!

A hot, steamy love letter sent through the mail can take mere minutes to write but be rewarded with days of pampering and hot nights. Sexuality is an important part of us all and any time another person pays attention to this, we cannot help but feel flattered. The adrenaline will begin to pump through the body as a person reads how their lover wants to ravage them. By the time they get finished, they will feel both appreciated and sexy and prepared to reward you for your efforts!

What about going out to dinner at your favorite restaurant with an intimate setting. Order your favorite wine or champagne and enjoy a gourmet meal.

Or you may prefer a night in. Make your bedroom into a love nest with turned down sheets covered by silk rose petals, candles and a lovely set of wine or champagne glasses with your favorite bottle of wine or champagne chilling in a ice bucket. Feast together on gourmet chocolates, enjoy some romantic games and finish up with a sensuous massage. We’ll leave you to image what will happen next.

The important thing to remember is to plan activities to share that are both romantic and fun. This is the key to keeping your love life are a high sizzle.
